Senebreju valodas vārda “hesed” tulkošanas iespējas Bībelē latviešu valodā

2021

Understanding the meaning

2009

This article provides an overview of the nature of meaning, emphasizing the associative character of lexical meanings. The essay also comments on the meaning-related difficulties the translator must often overcome in order to reach a coherent interpretation due to the dubious quality of many original texts. The author illustrates this point through texts from the European Union. He also discusses some exceptional situations, especially regarding religious and traditional texts such as the Lord’s Prayer, whose formal power, including the magical ring of words, seems to outshine the alleged universal need for coherence and signification. Thus, any attempt to promote an alternative translation…

Amplified John? Kristologiske tekster i Johannesevangeliet og Bibelselskapets NT05-oversettelse

2011

Author's version of an article published in the journal: Tidsskrift for teologi og kirke. Also available from the publisher at: http://www.idunn.no/ts/ttk/2011/02/art03 The article argues that the latest translation of the New Testament (NT05) by the Norwegian Bible Society has a tendency to amplify several Christological texts in the Gospel of John. It consists of two parts: Part 1 discusses the translation of John 1:1–5, 1:14, 1:15 and 1:18, and offers a new general interpretation of the prologue. Part 2 treats the translation of ekserkjomai in Joh 8:42, 13:3, 16:27–30, and 17:8.

Un salteri català del segle XV perdut

2014

The Psalter of the Cathedral of Valencia is not a complete work, but was restored in the nineteenth century from different versions of the biblical text, one of which is lost by now. With thi…
